British Columbia

Well, here it is 11:21 and I have barely begun packing. I am heading out to BC for a friend's wedding. I have about 12 hours of traveling, and barely 6 hours of sleep ahead of me. I have been slacking on the photos this past bit, but I promise I will come back with a few promising photos from my trip.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Don't just make it a typical weekend, get out of the house or out of your yard, and do something you have been meaning to do. Life is just too short.

The Nicholson's

Here is a shoot I did recently. I had the privilege to photographing these children for their parents as a gift for their mom's birthday.

We had a blast!

MUSKOKA

Well, summer is basically here. And one of my friends facebooked me about Muskoka today, and it reminded me of last summer. I spent all of last summer up in Muskoka painting. I had such a great time, and it almost seems weird not to be there now. But alas, here I am in the city, yet loving it. I love taking photos of people, ha, much more then painting.

Well Geren, thanks for inspiring today's post, and here's a pic of what is awaiting you when you come visit......I don't think you are ready! lol.

enjoy today!

SARAH'S HORSE

Hey guys, I was at a friend's wedding yesterday, so I have a few photos to make up for yesterday's lack of.

This is a shoot that I did a while ago. They are of my friend and her horses. She had to put one down, and wanted a few last photos of her, her mom, and the horse. It was sad doing this shoot, but I was soooo happy to be able to capture their relationship for them to always look back on.

Thanks Sarah.

ASIA, THE BEGINNING OF IT ALL

Well, I was looking through some photos again today, and I found this! I thought it would be a good opportunity to tell you all how I got into photography!

I never owed a camera in my life, except for a point and shoot film camera I had convinced my mother to buy for me when I was 8 at a garage sale. Lol, but that quickly began to collect dust on my shelf. I did take a photography course in grade 10, but it wasn't until after my first year at bible college that I decided to go on a missions trip, and for which I bought a dslr. This is truly how it all began. I travelled all through Asia with two friends, for four months. I used my camrea basically everyday.

Anyways, from there on in I was sold, I haven't let go of my camera since, I absolutely love it, and love blessing others through it.

Here is a photograph that my friend (Jordan Fretz) took of me while in Maui (stayed in Maui for a week before heading to Asia). We were on top of Haleakala (a volcano) while the sun set.......UNreal.

2009 Sherdian Grad Gallery

Last night I went downtown Toronto for my school's grad gallery. It's in the Scotia plaza in the Path underneath King and Bay. They have some great work up there, if you are in the area, or really want to see some great work, make sure you stop by. It's on from the 14th-28th of this month.

Here is a picture of downtown Toronto that I took this past January.

Symmetry

I stumbled across this photo today. Not really sure what I am trying to say with this image, I just love the symmetry of it. Stare at it long enough and maybe you can tell me.

You can almost hear the silence of the air, the distant "ding" of a bouy, and feel the touch of the dense fog on your face...

FRIENDS

Photobucket

This past weekend I had the privilege of standing up in my friend's wedding as his best man. I didn't have much time to take photos, but I managed to snag this one. Here is a picture of a group of us that made it out to the wedding. We all met at a bible college out west in Saskatchewan a few years ago. Everyone flew in from around the country to witness their marriage. It was such a blessing seeing everyone again, and it made me stop and think just how amazing friendship is.

hold close to the friendships that you have.
